Mads Hansen

Originally from San Diego, Batmads was introduced to the tattoo industry through her background in SFX makeup and body painting. She began her tattoo career in 2019 and, in 2023, had the unique opportunity to work in Okinawa, Japan under her mentor, Yoshiki-San.

Bats has been tattooing with us in Houston since 2024, where her career has really taken off. She specializes in illustrative black and grey, gothic ornamental blackwork, and enjoys both bold and fine line styles. You’ll often find her tattooing creatures, critters, gothic architecture, flowers, foliage, pets, and all things dark and spooky.

She finds it especially rewarding to connect with her clients and takes the time to make sure everyone feels heard and comfortable throughout the entire experience. Her goal is to make sure you leave feeling great about your new tattoo. And yes, she’ll happily move the stencil again, so don’t be shy about asking.

Outside of tattooing, Bats enjoys doing grandma crafts, touching grass, and being the most haunting person in the room.
